We treat people, not diagnoses
An integrative, whole-person approach to psychiatric care.
Medication management is an essential part of psychiatric care, but it is not the whole of it, and leading with that one idea can quietly reinforce stigma. At Serene Health we frame care around a more comprehensive, whole-person model: understanding your history, biology, environment, strengths, and goals, then building a plan that supports long-term wellness.
Our focus is the full person in front of us, not a label on a chart. The language that guides our work reflects that:
- Integrative Psychiatry
- Personalized Psychiatric Care
- Trauma-Informed, Patient-Centered Treatment
- Whole-Person Mental Health Care
This is care designed to help you feel like your authentic, grounded self again.
What sets our care apart
Diagnosis is a tool, not a label
Many people come to us carrying multiple prior diagnoses, uncertainty about what they are really experiencing, or labels that no longer feel accurate. We start by listening.
It is common to arrive with:
- Multiple or conflicting diagnoses from the past
- Uncertainty about what you are experiencing
- Labels that no longer feel like you
In our model a diagnosis is not an identity. It is a clinical tool that helps guide treatment. Our role is to carefully explore your patterns, context, and contributing factors, so we can create clarity together and help you move toward feeling like your authentic, grounded self again.
What your care may include
Collaborative. Individualized. Built around you.
Treatment planning is collaborative and individualized. Depending on what you need, your plan may draw on any of these, woven together rather than used in isolation.
Comprehensive Evaluation & Diagnostic Clarification
A careful look at your story, symptoms, and history to bring clarity to what you are experiencing.
Ongoing Behavioral Health Therapy
Regular therapy that supports insight, coping, and meaningful change over time.
Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Approaches
Care that recognizes the role of trauma and builds safety into every step.
Neuromodulation Options Such as TMS
When appropriate, advanced, non-invasive options like TMS can be coordinated as part of the plan.
Lifestyle & Behavioral Interventions
Sleep, movement, nutrition, and daily habits that strengthen lasting wellness.
Medication Treatment, When Clinically Indicated
When medication is the right fit, it is one part of a broader plan, prescribed thoughtfully and reviewed regularly, never the default.
Medication is presented clearly, as one component within a broader, integrative strategy, not the defining feature of your care.
Care you build together with your provider
Collaborative, individualized, and adjusted as you go.
Your treatment plan is not handed to you, it is built with you. We talk through options, weigh what fits your life, and revisit the plan as things change.
That includes how medication fits in. When it is part of your care, it is presented clearly and reviewed regularly, as one component within a broader strategy, never the defining feature of your treatment.
- Shared, collaborative decisions
- Plans that adjust as you progress
- Ongoing therapy and medication support, together
- Clear communication at every visit
Advanced treatment options, when appropriate
Including neuromodulation such as TMS.
For some people, especially when symptoms have not responded to other approaches, advanced options can help. Your provider may discuss neuromodulation such as TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), a non-invasive therapy that is FDA-cleared for certain conditions, and coordinate that care when it is clinically appropriate.
As with everything in an integrative plan, advanced options are considered thoughtfully, in the context of your full picture, and only when they are the right fit for you.
- Considered within your whole-person plan
- Non-invasive and evidence-based
- Coordinated by your psychiatric team
